Following the trend of last week’s protest story in which of hundreds of Rochesterians traveled 384 miles to brave 20 degree weather and protest at the nation’s capital, this week the D&C reports on a lone woman who braved 60 degree weather in the rain to stand up for the cause of the ordination of women against the big bad Catholic Church.
A fearless and courageous reporter posed the question to the mean and nasty head of the local Catholic Church at a press conference about… oh who cares? Although the press conference had nothing to do with the ordination of women, the D&C nobly attacked the sexism of the Church by making their video all about this issue. When asked about the issue, the editor of the D&C responded by saying, “this is the kind of quality, professional journalism you just don’t get in the amateur blogosphere.” The D&C plans to keep their momentum of protest stories going. It is rumored that a man plans on protesting a math conference at RIT tomorrow by bringing a sign bearing the words “2+2=5″.
My apologies for my sorry attempt at humor, but that video just about made me fall out of my chair. It’s pretty odd because the text of the story is fine – it’s just the video that is just, plain terrible. It just so happens that Fr Z. posted yet another video of why women’s ordination will never happen.
